What I found today on the net

While looking for things to blog about i came across a web site called , The Portland Pastry Chefs Association. This site is a place that has professionals from a wide variety of places, bakers, pastry chefs, veterans of the industry to students. They were founded in 2012, with over fifty members as of right now it seems to be the place to be if you are in the pastry field. So after spending some time looking over the site I decided to see what other associations are out there, so to see if there was one that I could join if I moved out of Oregon. One in particular that i found was Pastryscoop.com, in their "look it up" tab was a intire list of different associations all over the U.S. Site from the James Beard association, Slow Food USA, Retail Bakers of America, as well as several all female groups. I hope you guys find this site as helpful as I do

Thank you for the tips, now things are starting to make sense. Now I can modify my hunter deck a little bit better.

The adds of evil
While reading the newest issue of Bon Appetite magazine I found my self counting the amount of pages that had adds before I accutally found any content that was in the magazine. Forteen pages before the chapters are noted, and every other page after that is a advertisement for something.
I can understand the adds for things such as All-Clad pans or the puff pastry dough from Pepperridge Farms, but a watch that most people cant afford, hair color treatments, and mens calone, I realized that this is not a profesinal magazine, this is the GQ of cooking. So then I went to what I thought was the advertiseing dead zone, Americas Test Kitchen. The magazine doesnt have them but their web-site has started too. Even though they are for produce from Foxy organics, it is still heart breaking to see.
